I have wanted to make a dreamcatcher for a while now after seeing a few different ideas floating around. All of the ones I have seen looked so amazing and different. I drew up a little draft of how I wanted our one to look and once I had what was needed we spent the afternoon working on it.
I decided on using a doily in the centre because its much easier for a kids DIY also. I worked on the assembly bit as it takes some time (wrapping the hoop in wool and tying off all the knots) and then Miss K chose her beads and feathers and we decorated it.
If you are thinking of making one you can use just about anything to decorate it but here’s whats needed.
- Embroidery hoop or Metal hoop
- Wool or Ribbon
- Glue Gun (so much easier to glue on feathers than tie them on!)
- Beads or Seashells
The dreamcatcher turned out as planned and is now hanging in Miss K’s bedroom! I love how the colourful feathers and butterfly beads look. Have you made your own dreamcatcher before? I would love to hear how you decorated it!
